The Crate Conveyor Chain is made of malleable iron and has ample wearing surfaces. The steel connecting pins are riveted flush with the sidebars, allowing the chain to slide freely in 2.5" channel guides. These chains are capable of flexing sideways around a 3'-0" recommended minimum radius, but they can also negotiate a 1'-9" radius. To achieve the longest chain life, it is best to use the largest possible radius. These chains can be used in both horizontal and inclined planes and are typically used in double strands to handle cases of bottles, large cans or containers, and crates.
The CC Class Crate Conveyor Chains have a tensile strength range of 6,000 to 15,000 pounds and are designed with smooth bearing surfaces that reduce pitch elongation caused by "break-in" wear. These chains are available in pitch ranges of 2.5 to 4.00 inches and come with a complete assortment of cast steel sprockets. When used as a drive chain, the CC Class Pintle is designed to travel in the direction of the barrel end of the links. As an elevating or conveying chain, its direction of travel should be toward the open ends of the links.
