Operating Principle and Structure of Electromagnetic Brake Motor
The DS disc brake used in brake motors involves mounting it on the cover located at the non-extension end of the motor shaft. When the brake motor is turned on, the brake is also activated. This is accomplished through electromagnetic suction, whereby the electromagnet attracts the armature and compresses the spring. As a result, the brake disc is released from the armature end cover, allowing the motor to start running. When the power supply is disconnected, the brake electromagnet no longer has magnetic attraction, and the spring pushes the armature to apply pressure on the brake disc through the action of frictional force. This causes the motor to come to a stop.

YEJ Wiring Brake Motor Method
Adjustment and Maintenance of Electromagnetic Brake Motor
During motor braking, friction between the brake pads and disc wears out the friction disc, causing an increase in the gap between the motor cover plate and the brake. This gap change may affect the motor's long-term operation and the braking torque. If the gap is too small, the friction disc will not completely separate from the motor cover plate, causing the motor to overheat and burn out. Conversely, if the gap is too large, the pressing plate may not be able to pull, or it may produce a loud noise. Brake pressing plate at the gap magnechuck brakes, generally for 63 to 112 frame size motor, the brake gap is between 0.25mm to 0.30mm, for 132 ~ 180 frame size motor, the brake gap is between 0.50mm to 0.80mm.
